Our current venture development project is Good People Energy Technologies Inc. We are re-posting their monthly status updates here to let Eat Drink Law blog subscribers follow along as we work on this venture.
I didn’t get a lot done for Good People in April 2017. The beginning of the month was dominated by my day job. And then I took off to Florida with my family for two weeks. When I got back, I caught up a bit on Ethan’s ongoing efforts while I was away, and then I had just enough time to handle our Annual Benefit Report filing for our partial year in 2016. Probably not the most productive month in terms of work accomplished.
I took a little grief from my entrepreneurial peers about the family vacation. I admit that the two week gap, combined with the work impact before and after, effectively took me out of the game for most of the month. But for me, and Ethan as well, family is our top priority and a big driver of why and how we are doing what we are doing. If your work doesn’t enable you to take the time for family, then what are you doing? I will also say that I came back from vacation with renewed energy and ideas for Good People. I am confident we are going to move the needle in the next few months and the time and perspective really helped.
My absence also reaffirmed why I’m not doing this alone. Ethan kept working our supply issues in my absence and I think he made some breakthroughs on our challenges with the specifications and getting some demo units. We don’t have them in hand yet, but the path seems clearer. This is why a team is critical. We can back fill for one another and keep things moving. If you are feeling bad for Ethan, because I got to take off and he was left carrying us, you should know he is taking a family vacation in May.
My major April project was our Annual Benefit Report. But I posted separately about that, so you can check it out here.
